Instructions & Supplemental Information

Congratulations on your scholarship! This checklist is intended to assist you in completing follow-up tasks to receive your award from the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara.

Award recipients must provide all required information to their online application account. Information uploaded from previous award years is not acceptable.

Required Documents

The following documents (in .doc or .pdf format) must be uploaded to your online Scholarship Foundation application account by the posted deadlines. Tasks correspond to each of these documents to allow electronic submission.

  • Donor Thank You Letter
    Upload a letter of gratitude to the donor providing funding for your scholarship. Your letter will be forwarded to your donor.
    • Address the letter to the name of your scholarship fund. You can find the name of your scholarship in your original award notification email.
    • Be thoughtful and share why this scholarship is important to you.
    • Check your spelling and grammar.
    • Include your full name.
  • 2021-2022 Transcript (Re-applicants only)
    Upload a complete transcript from the 2021-2022 academic year.
    • Your transcript must show:
      • Your full name
      • All graded work from Fall 2021 through Spring 2022
      • Your cumulative GPA after the Spring 2022 term
    • Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
    • If your transcript does not list your GPA, you must additionally request a letter from your college that includes a calculated GPA or note of good academic standing.
    • If you are a re-applicant that was not enrolled in the 2021-2022 academic year, please notify the Foundation by emailing [email protected].
  • Financial Aid Summary
    Upload a summary of your financial aid award offers from your college.
    • Download, take a screenshot, or copy-and-paste a list of your complete financial aid award summary.
    • If you are not receiving any other type of financial aid, upload a document stating such.
  • Verification of Enrollment
    Most institutions will provide a digital Verification of Enrollment online showing your name, terms of enrollment, and course load. However, you may also follow the instructions below to verify your enrollment by providing your course schedule. (Click here to see sample.)
    • Your course schedule must show:
      • Your full name
      • The name of your institution
      • The term being verified (Fall, Winter, or Spring)
      • The unit-worth of each of your courses
    • Wait listed courses do not count.
    • If you are studying abroad for the term, request a Verification of Enrollment from your home institution.

Notify the Scholarship Foundation IMMEDIATELY:

  • If you change your college, major, enrollment status, or withdraw from school.
  • If you change your permanent or school address, email or telephone number, please email [email protected] with your full name and updated contact information.

REMEMBER:
It is your responsibility to ensure that all data in your scholarship file is complete and accurate.

Please note that the Foundation will communicate with you primarily through email. Be sure to check your spam/junk filter regularly and add the Foundation to your contact list.
