Creative Writing Scholarship Program

In addition to meeting the Eligibility requirements for the General scholarship program, applicants must demonstrate unusual aptitude or potential in the field of creative writing or poetry. Creative Writing Scholarship recipients will be selected from a portfolio of their work. Applicants must be either a high school senior graduating from a Santa Barbara County school by June 2014 or a continuing college student. No financial need required.

South County:

Honors Scholarship Program

In addition to meeting the Eligibility requirements for the General scholarship program, applicants must be a high school senior graduating by June 2014 from a Goleta, Santa Barbara, or Carpinteria school. Applicants must demonstrate a very high level of academic achievement (generally above 4.2 weighted GPA). No financial need required. 

Art Scholarship Program

In addition to meeting the Eligibility requirements for the General scholarship program, applicants must be a high school senior graduating by June 2014 from a Goleta, Santa Barbara, or Carpinteria school. Applicants must be planning to major in Art or an Art-related major at college. Art Scholarship recipients will be selected from a showing of their art portfolio at a judged competition. No financial need required.

 

County-Wide:

Fleischmann and Floro Awards Program

In addition to meeting the Eligibility requirements for the General scholarship program, applicants must be a high school senior graduating by June 2014 from a Santa Barbara County high school.  Applicants must have earned a minimum 3.5 weighted GPA and have a strong record of community service activities. These are cash awards. No financial need required.

Breitling College Visit Awards Program

In addition to meeting the Eligibility requirements for the General scholarship program, applicants must be a female high school senior graduating by June 2014, and be planning to attend full-time at an approved college located outside the state of California. Applicants must be nominated by their high school counselor or principal, and only one nomination will be accepted from each school. These are cash awards to help pay for females to visit out-of-state colleges. Financial need is required. Nominees will be given the paper application by their high school counselor.

Adsum Education Foundation Scholarship

AB 540 students who have completed at least four years in a Santa Barbara County school between grades 7-12 and who  will graduate from a County school by June 2014 may apply.  Scholarships are for use at any California  Community  College, California State University, or University of California campus.  Recipients must enroll as full-time students.  Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000.  See www.adsumsb.orgfor more general information about the  Adsum Foundation.
